Nashik: The MIDC police station, 14th police station in Nashik city, officially became operational on April 1.
Senior police officers said that while no formal inauguration ceremony was held, the facility had already been functioning as a police chowky under the Ambad police station for nearly two years.
DCP (Zone 2) Kishore Kale said the MIDC police station as established following govt orders to bifurcate the Satpur and Ambad police stations under the Nashik city police commissionerate.
By order of commissioner of police Sandeep Karnik, the station launched its full operations on April 1, 2026. The jurisdiction of the new station includes Ambad MIDC, area behind the NMC school in Ambad village, Keval Park, Navnath Nagar, Gharkul Yojana, Dattanagar, Chunhale, Sanjeevanagar, and the MHADA colony. It also covers the area behind Democracy Hotel up to Belgaon Dhaga, Tirdashet, Panjarpole, Jadhav Sankul, Patil Park, stretch from the CNG petrol pump on the Mumbai-Agra Highway to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue at Pathardi Phata.
In response to growing public demand, the city police submitted a proposal for the new station in 2023. While awaiting official sanction, the department established the MIDC Chunchale police chowky in the industrial area in April 2023, staffing it with six officers and 30 constables. State govt finally granted formal sanction for the full MIDC police station in July last year.
