The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and a private institution have jointly organized a job fair in Nashik on Sunday.

NASHIK: The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and a private institution have jointly organized a job fair in Nashik on Sunday.
The job fair is part of a massive recruitment drive being conducted across 10 states by the private institution, the All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT). It will be held at the AISECT-NSDC state resource centre on the second floor of Yash Arcade in Bytco Point, Nashik Road from 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

Brands looking for deeper penetration into semi-urban and rural India, including Bajaj Capital, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, Eureka Forbes, Reliance Retail, Jubilant Foodworks Ltd (Dominos Pizza India), ICICI Bank and the Times of India, besides small regional enterprises such as Nava Kisan Bio Plantech, Mphasis Ltd, Nava Bharath Fertilizer Limited, Magnum BPO and Prasanna Purple Mobilities Solutions will recruit candidates at the fair.
More than 30 national- and local-level companies will recruit candidates at the fair. "The companies will conduct interviews at the fair and will even give offer letters to the suitable candidates. They will create a database of eligible candidates for future requirements," AISECT director Siddharth Chaturvedi said. The job profiles for recruitment include sales and marketing, data entry operator, BPO, software developer, personal home page developer, accountant, cashier, machine operator and textile worker among others.
"To make things easier, the registered candidates will be made to go through a refresher course at the AISECT-NSDC centres nearby," Chaturvedi added.
"Efforts are being made across the country to develop the skills of the rural youth. But skill development will only bear fruit when the workforce gets jobs. We need to provide a stable and secure employment in the semi-urban and rural areas so that the youth, who have been imparted with essential skills, can effectively contribute to the economy. This job fair is one such initiative," said the director.
The other states where the job fair is taking place include Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh and Punjab.
