Nashik: The three-day Maharashtra Legislature’s Committee on Women’s and Children’s Rights and Welfare led by MLA Monica Rajale, along with members MLAs Manisha Kayande, Manjula Gavit, and Seema Hiray, to Nashik District has called for strict action against child marriages.According to a senior officer from Nashik Zilla Parishad, “The commitee led by MLA Rajale has stressed on taking cognizance with utmost seriousness against complaints regarding child marriage and women’s safety.”The committee members visited various govt offices and institutions within Dindori taluka and inspected their operations.They also visited the tribal girls’ hostel in Dindori taluka, the primary health centre in Talegaon, ‘Adarsh ​​AI Anganwadi Centre’ in Vanarwadi, and Sahyadri Farms, where they gathered information regarding the training programmes being implemented for farmers.They also visited the Dindori Panchayat Samiti, Dindori police station, and ‘Adarsh gram panchayat’ (model village council) of Avankhed, engaging in dialogue with the sarpanch and villagers to learn about various local initiatives.During this visit, the ‘Adarsh ​​AI Anganwadi centre’ in Vanarwadi, which was established with the specific objective of providing high-quality early childhood education to children in rural areas through the use of modern technology, was the highlight of the meeting.
The ZP Nashik officer further added, “Chairperson Rajale was all-praise for the anganwadi. She said such modern and attractive Anganwadis in rural areas would effectively cultivate a love for learning among children and significantly boost attendance rates at these centres and will take efforts to replicate them across the state.”The officer also added, “The committee has asked the zilla parishad, Nashik Municipal Corporation, to ensure that the allocated funds for the various schemes organised for the women and children welfare scheme are utilised within the stipulated timeframe.”The committee also aske the govt departments to regularly apprise elected representatives of schemes related to women and child development.
