Warm days, cool nights in Nashik city after rain
Nashik: Warm days and cool nights — the city has been experiencing a contrasting weather pattern over the past week, following recent rain spells. The prevailing weather also offers a huge variation from simmering heat recorded on the same day (April 10) last year at 41°C.After hovering between 31°C and 32.5°C for nearly a week, the maximum temperature rose sharply by 3.1° to 35.6°C on Friday, compared to 32.5°C recorded the previous day. In contrast, the minimum temperature dipped further, falling 1.4° to 17.4°C on Friday from 18.8°C on Thursday. The sharp variation between daytime and nighttime temperatures has become increasingly evident. While nights and early mornings remain cool and pleasant, the heat begins to intensify after 9am. "The weather remains comfortable during the night and early morning hours, but the mercury rises gradually as the day advances," Piyush Warke, a resident, said. This season's highest maximum temperature of 38.5°C was recorded on March 12. Subsequently, unseasonal rainfall during the second half of March led to a significant drop in temperatures, with daytime highs remaining between 31°C and 33°C over the last 10 days.
Parts of Nashik district experienced heavy unseasonal rainfall accompanied by hail on March 19 and 20. This was followed by additional rain spells between March 29 and 31 across the city and surrounding areas. More recently, Nashik recorded 39mm of rainfall within just 30 minutes on April 5, resulting in a noticeable drop in minimum temperatures.Weather experts have attributed the ongoing fluctuations in day and night temperatures to repeated recent rain spells, which continue to influence local weather conditions.
