Two men arrested in Dadri for murdering friend

Police on Wednesday night arrested two men who murdered a friend over alleged relationship with a woman in Dadri. The accused have been identified as Santram (25) and Anil (26), residents of Tulsi Vihar village in Dadri area.

DADRI: Police on Wednesday night arrested two men who murdered a friend over alleged relationship with a woman in Dadri. The accused have been identified as Santram (25) and Anil (26), residents of Tulsi Vihar village in Dadri area. The duo along with an accomplice killed a friend and an auto driver named Shahrukh on the night of December 28 and dumped his body in a nearby field.
Piyush Kumar, Circle Officer Dadri, said that all the accused and the victim used to drive autos in the city.

“Santram had relationship with a local woman. Shahrukh also developed relationship with the same woman. This resulted in scuffle and Santram asked him to stay away from the woman,” said police.
Shahrukh not only ignored the advice but also threatened him, claiming that his uncle Shomin was a strongman in the locality. Santram got angry and decided to eliminate Shahrukh over the issue.
Police said that on the night of December 28, Santram called his two friends Anil and Naresh (24) and hatched a plot. The accused called the victim and said that they wanted to ignore the past differences and become friends.
The victim came into confidence believing them to be true. The three caucused then offered the victim heavy dose of alcohol. “When the victim became unconscious, the accused took him to Katehra village and chocked him to death,” said police. The accused dumped the body and fled from the spot.
Police said that the accused had been absconding since the murder. The police on Wednesday night received information about accused’s movement near Dadri railway station. A team of police officials reached at there and arrested the two accused. The third accomplice Naresh is still absconding. “The two accused were produced in court and sent to judicial custody,” said Kumar.
