Although the medical education department notification does not throw light on the actual reason behind his suspension, top sources in the department said that Sahu had been suspended for allegedly supplying untested blood to a child patient admitted at a private nursing home of Patna a couple of months back leading to her death.
The medical education secretary, Afzal Amanullah, had recommended his suspension soon after the incident. An inquiry conducted by the state drug control administration had revealed that the blood bank had supplied untested blood to the child.
