<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">PATNA: Patna IG Abhayanand has appealed to the people to inform police about criminals and criminal activities in their respective areas.<br /><br />He was speaking at a function organised by the Bihar Chamber of Commerce here on Saturday. While sharing his experience, Abhayanand said he generally gets information on individual cases.

"The emerging picture clearly indicates about the growing selfishness in the society. Everyone knows what happens in his or her locality. I need your information to make a crime-free society." "You also need not disclose your identity in the letter containing the information about the criminals and criminal activities in your areas. Just drop an envelop on my address and you will soon get the result. Action will certainly be taken," the IG told traders who attended the meeting.<br /><br />The IG maintained that traders are the engine of the state’s economic development. <br /><br />Referring to a comment made by a speaker about the return of traders to the state in the changed situation, he said every person of the state should consider the land of Bihar as their mother. "<span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Ishwar karein maa swastha rahein. Maa ki sewa karne mein kathinai ho to maa ko chhorkar nahin jaya ja sakta</span>," he remarked.<br /><br />He also appealed to the traders to make their contribution in the field of particularly two sectors — primary health and primary education. <br /><br />He also assured them to talk to the commissioner for speedy disposal of their applications related to issuance of arms. Abhayanand also said he plans to set up police station-level committees for community policing.<br /><br />"We will accommodate PMC ward councillors and other residents in such committees," he added.</div> </div>
