Padmashri doc felicitated

PATNA: At a ceremony held at Bal Bharati Patna Montessori School in Yarpur, eminent neurophysician Dr Gopal Prasad Sinha was felicitated. He is the only person from Bihar to have received the Padmashri this year. He was the former head of medicine at the Patna Medical College and Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, a visibly moved Sinha said that the honour that has been bestowed upon him is not only his, but of the entire Bihar.
MLC Ram Kripal Yadav said that he was happy that the award has come to the state. He also praised Sinha for his remarkable contribution to the society.
MLA Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha, eminent paediatrician Dr Lala Surajnandan Prasad, playwright Jeetendra Sahay, former PU VC SNP Sinha, Anil Sulabh of IIHER and former principal of Art and Craft College Shyam Sharma were also present.
Meanwhile, the Medical Education Foundation and 1965 batch of PMCH Alumni Group also jointly organised a function here to felicitate Sinha. Noted surgeon Dr A A Hai presided over the function. Foundation convenor and Bihar Association of Deaf president Dr Sheo Kumar Prasad highlighted the social work done by Sinha.
