Rajkot: A 59-year-old businessman, has filed a complaint at the Morbi City A Division police station against three members of a family, alleging that they fraudulently sold the same flat to multiple buyers.
The complainant Sunil Doshi named Parth Mehta, Mukesh Mehta and Hina Mehta. He alleged that on June 19, 2025, Parth listed a semi-furnished flat for sale on the OLX mobile application for Rs 50 lakh. After negotiations, the deal was finalised at Rs 41.25 lakh.
Doshi said he paid a token amount of Rs 11,000 to Mehta and later executed a formal agreement on Rs 300 stamp paper after paying Rs 13.89 lakh as part payment. It was agreed that the remaining Rs 27.25 lakh would be paid within three months at the time of completing the property documentation.
However, when Doshi approached Mehta after three months to complete the formalities, he was repeatedly assured that the process would be completed in a few days. Despite waiting for another four to five months, the documentation was not done, the complaint alleges.
Doshi alleged that he later discovered that a loan of around Rs 32 lakh had been taken on the flat from Capri Global Finance and was still outstanding.
Subsequent inquiries revealed that the Mehta family had also allegedly sold the same flat to another buyer, identified as Chetna Joshi, for Rs 47 lakh and had taken Rs 29 lakh as advance from her, the complaint said.
