Disabled youth lynched by dad, brother

HAZARIBAG: A disabled youth was beaten to death by his father and elder brother at Bharajo village in Ichak on Thursday after he had asked for his share of crops from them.
According to the statement given to police and panchayat committee members by Asha Devi the wife of the deceased Sanjay Soni (26) was mercilessly assaulted by her father-in-law Mahesh Soni and his elder son Pradeep.
"They quarrelled with my husband over the share of paddy and Sanjay could not defend himself because of his deformities. The villagers rushed him to Hazaribag Sadar Hospital but he succumbed to injuries on the way," said the complaint.
Police sent the body for postmortem. Although police arrested Pradeep from his residence, the father was absconding. Pradeep was produced before the chief judicial magistrate who sent him to jail on Friday. Ichak police station officer in charge Ravi Shankar Singh said, "The matter is being investigated and we will take action against the accused persons."
