Koderma: To bridge the gap between law enforcement and the younger generation, Koderma SP Kumar Shivashish hosted an event titled "Samvad Program" at RMMM+2 High School in Chandwara on Wednesday.The initiative was aimed to instil a strong sense of social responsibility among students while fostering deep mutual trust between the public and the police department.During the interactive session, the SP engaged in a direct dialogue with the students, breaking down complex legal and social issues into accessible life lessons. He also spoke at length about cybersecurity threats, the dangers of substance abuse, and the critical importance of traffic safety.He urged students to view discipline and morality not as restrictive rules, but as foundational pillars of a successful life, while also highlighting the importance of maintaining good health and recognising signs of mental distress."The police are not a force to be feared, but a shield for your protection," SP Shivashish told the gathering, urging them to view cops as friends.Ankit Kumar Modi, a Class 12 student, remarked that talking to the SP made him feel much more confident about reporting wrongdoings.
Another student, Raunak Jahan, engaged with the SP on how to build the confidence necessary for parents to support her higher education goals.While talking to TOI, school headmaster Radhey Shyam Shukla said that such programmes act as a catalyst to boost the morale of students and enhance their talents.The SP told TOI, “Our efforts will be to increase the cooperation between the police and public, so that the public can easily put forward their views before the police.”
