Himachal Pradesh CM Swearing-In Live Updates: Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu takes oath as Himachal Pradesh CM
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu (58) took oath as the 15th chief minister of Himachal Pradesh in a ceremony held at the historic Ridge Maidan of Shimla on Sunday. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and former AICC president Rahul Gandhi were present to witness the occasion as after facing crushing defeat in many states finally Congress has managed to put a break on the winning streak of BJP in Himachal Pradesh by winning 40 seats. Sukhu is the first chief minister of Congress from lower Himachal as past chief ministers were from upper Himachal. Stay with TOI for all the latest updates.

A four-time MLA whose politics is rooted in the Congress’s student wing, National Students’ Union of India, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu (58) has become the 15th chief minister of Himachal Pradesh.A prominent Rajput face of the party, Sukhu — the only moustached CM of the hill state so far — has risen through the Congress ranks over the years, having served as the state president of NSUI from 1998 to 1995. In 1995, he became the state general secretary of Youth Congress.
