Two arersted for assaulting taxi driver

T'puram: Fort police arrested two autorickshaw drivers for allegedly assaulting a taxi driver near the eastern side of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple following an argument over parking and movement of vehicles near an autorickshaw stand.The arrested were identified as Subhash (46) of Karamana and Sarath (34) of Manacaud.According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday. The victim, a taxi driver from Kollam, had dropped passengers near the temple area and asked the autorickshaw drivers to move their vehicle to make way for his taxi. This reportedly led to an argument between the drivers.Police said the accused allegedly stopped the taxi driver, threatened him and assaulted him brutally during the altercation. Following a complaint, police registered a case and launched a probe. The accused were later taken into custody.
