Vadodara: A Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act court in Panchmahal held a man guilty of raping a 9-year-old girl in Godhra taluka last year and sentenced him to imprisonment for the rest of his natural life. The court found that the accused forcibly took the girl away from her mother and raped her.
The crime took place around 2am on September 17, 2025, when Boda alias Ajay Nayak, 29, came to the girl's house. He dragged the child away and, when the girl's mother tried to resist, Nayak assaulted her with a stick.
Nayak took the girl to a secluded spot and raped her. He later threatened the child and warned her not to speak about the crime to anyone. The girl's father approached the police after learning about the incident and an offence was registered.
The court held Nayak guilty of offences under the Pocso Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. It sentenced him to imprisonment for the remainder of his natural life and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh. The court also ordered that compensation of Rs 5 lakh be paid to the girl.
