History-sheeter held for stealing LPG cylinders

Vadodara: Crime branch officials have arrested a history-sheeter accused of stealing five LPG cylinders from different parts of the city using stolen two-wheelers.The accused, identified as Anil Mahida, allegedly stole LPG cylinders from the Sama, Manjalpur and Fatehgunj areas over the past few days. Police said he had also stolen two two-wheelers, which he used while carrying out the thefts.According to investigators, Mahida would conduct a recce of residential colonies before targeting houses and stealing LPG cylinders.Police records show that Mahida has more than 10 vehicle theft cases registered against him in the city. He had also previously been detained under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) in Rajkot.Police are investigating to ascertain whether he was involved in other thefts in the city.
