Vijayawada: Following a distress appeal made by a woman hailing from Valmikipuram village in Annamayya district alleging severe harassment at her workplace in Oman and to rescue her, AP deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to take urgent measures to safely rescue her.
The victim, identified as Dudekula Shehnaz from Valmikipuram village in Annamayya district, travelled to Oman for employment to support her family. However, she reportedly endured physical abuse and inhumane treatment at her workplace.
In a distress video circulated on social media, Shehnaz appealed directly to Pawan Kalyan, stating that she was being assaulted and denied basic necessities such as food and water and feared for her life. The emotional plea prompted an immediate response from Pawan Kalyan.
Taking serious note of the situation, Pawan Kalyan instructed his office to coordinate rescue efforts without delay. Officials subsequently established contact with Shehnaz's husband and the concerned agent in Oman to gather details.
Kalyan's office has also reached out to the ministry of external affairs and the Indian Embassy in Oman to facilitate her safe return. Efforts are underway to bring Shehnaz back to India at the earliest. Further, Pawan Kalyan has been personally monitoring the developments to ensure swift action and the woman's safety.
