Speeding car crash after IPL trip kills 2 in Chittoor district

Tirupati: Two persons were killed and four others sustained injuries after a speeding car rammed into a stationary truck from behind near Gangavaram in Chittoor district in the early hours on Monday. According to the police, the deceased were identified as Yugandhar and Hareesh, both working at the Tirupati court. Police investigation revealed that the duo, along with their four other friends, were returning to Tirupati after watching an IPL match in Bengaluru on Sunday night. Their speeding vehicle crashed into a stationary truck at high speed near Dandapalam Cross in Gangavaram mandal in the early hours on Monday, leaving both Yugandhar and Hareesh dead on the spot before they could be shifted to the hospital. Four others who sustained injuries were shifted to the govt hospital at Palamaner, and they were said to be out of danger as they sustained minor injuries in the accident. Gangavaram police registered a case and shifted the bodies for postmortem.
