Two motorists killed in road accident near Sydapuram

Tirupati: Two motorists were killed in a ghastly road accident near Sydapuram in Nellore district in the late hours on Saturday. According to the local police, the deceased were identified as T Santosh (24) and B Sashi Kumar (18), residents of Chaganam village.The duo, who headed towards Sydapuram from Chaganam on a two-wheeler, crashed into a stationary truck at very high speed and succumbed to injuries before they were shifted to the hospital.Eyewitnesses told the police that local RTO officials got the truck alighted near a housing layout and checked the documents of the truck when Santosh and Sashi Kumar crashed into the stationary truck at high speed.Sydapuram police registered a case and shifted the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem. Pointing out that both motorists were not wearing helmets and sustained severe head injuries leading to their deaths, the police dept appealed to motorists to mandatorily wear helmets during their two rides to save their own lives when they get involved in such unforeseen accidents.
