Korpur poster unveiled
The official poster of Arindam Sil’s thriller Korpur was unveiled, offering a glimpse into what is expected to be one of the most compelling releases of the year. The film features an ensemble cast led by Rituparna Sengupta, Bratya Basu, Shahebb Chattopadhyay, Ananya Banerjee, Arpan Ghoshal, Lahoma Bhattacharya, Kunal Ghosh, Rumki Chatterjee and others.
Based on author Dipanwita Roy’s novel Antardhaner Nepothye, Korpur is described as a sharp, layered thriller that delves into Bengal’s first-ever education scam. Drawing from real socio-political undercurrents, the film explores the dark corridors of power, governance, and corruption, revealing how systemic manipulation can quietly reshape countless lives. At its core, Korpur examines themes of truth, control, and human vulnerability in a world where politics intrudes into the most personal spaces. Through morally complex characters and tightly wound storytelling, the film aims to hold up a mirror to society while delivering a tense, edge-of-the-seat cinematic experience. The newly launched digital poster hints at an intense and atmospheric narrative, sparking curiosity among cinephiles and audiences alike.
Speaking about the film, Arindam said, “You do certain films out of compulsion and responsibility to society. That is why I made films like Dhananjay, Mahananda, and now Korpur.”
Firdausul Hasan from the production house added that Korpur is more than just a thriller. “It reflects a system that quietly shapes—and sometimes distorts—our society,” he said.
