James Cameron’s sci-fi film ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ witnessed a huge drop in collections on its second Monday at the Indian box office. The film that was enjoying a steady run at the ticket windows, saw its numbers take a hit on Monday, with the film witnessing a nearly 50% drop in collections.

As per early estimates on sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 4.75 crore net on Day 11 across all languages. This is by far the film's lowest single-day total since its release. While the film's numbers have fallen to single-digit collections, it had not yet fallen below the Rs 5 crore mark.

The film closed its first week with a collection of Rs 109.5 crore net, followed by a partial second-week tally of Rs 33.15 crore so far. While there has been a significant slowdown at the box office, with this, the film’s total India net collection now stands at an estimated Rs 142.65 crore.

Among the language-wise contributions, the English version continues to lead with an estimated Rs 62 crore net collection, followed by the Hindi version which does not lag too far behind with an estimated total of Rs 47.1 crore. The Tamil version collected around Rs 20.78 crore, while the Telugu dubbed version stands at an estimated Rs 12.34 crore. The Kannada and Malayalam have not yet broken past the Rs 1 crore mark with the films earning approximately Rs 43 lakh and Rs 15 lakh respectively.

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has grossed an estimated Rs 174 crore in India. While the film is expected to eventually cross the Rs 200 crore gross mark, its performance has fallen well short of pre-release predictions. Prior to the film's release, trade experts predicted that the film would potentially cross the Rs 500 crore mark at the Indian box office.
‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ vs ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’
Although the film has emerged as the highest-grossing Hollywood release of 2025 in India so far, it continues to trail its predecessor, ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’. According to Sacnilk, the 2023 release collected Rs 193.6 crore in its first week alone, followed by Rs 100.5 crore in week two and Rs 59.85 crore in week three, eventually concluding its run with a Rs 391.4 crore net total.
