The actor, writer, and producer succeeds David Tennant, who fronted the ceremony in 2024 and 2025.Cumming said he was pleased to return to the BAFTA stage in a hosting role, describing the ceremony as an opportunity to celebrate filmmaking craft while keeping the evening lively.The BAFTA nominations were unveiled on 27 January 2026. The films that received the most nominations include: ‘One Battle After Another’ with 14 nominations, followed by ‘Sinners’ with 13 nominations, And 'Hamnet’ and ‘Marty Supreme’ with 11 nominations each.
