Director Josh Cooley: 'Transformers One' story is as much an emotional journey as it is pure adventure

Director Josh Cooley is offering an exciting new take on the 'Transformers' saga with the upcoming 'Transformers One', which explores the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron.

In a statement, Cooley revealed that the heart of the film lies in the relationship between two Autobots, Orion Pax and D-16, whose friendship slowly deteriorates, leading to an epic rivalry. Set against the backdrop of a high-tech world, their journey from allies to adversaries delivers a gripping and timeless tale of betrayal.

Josh began saying, “The film is essentially about their relationship."

He went on to add, "Together they rise higher than either ever dreamed, but at the cost of their friendship. You will have compassion for both of them and you will also understand what drives them both. You will witness the struggles that make them who they become. The story is as much an emotional journey as it is pure adventure, which I think is unique in Transformers history."



Unlike the live-action Transformers movies, which depict the robots as battle-ready from birth, 'Transformers One' presents a fresh narrative, revealing the character’s transformative journey. The film delves into the deep bond between Orion Pax and D-16, shedding light on the events that ultimately led to their epic clash.

The film boasts an impressive voice cast led by Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, and Scarlett Johansson. The stellar cast also includes Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm, promising a thrilling new experience for Transformers fans.

The film arrives in theaters on 20th September, 2024 in India, in English & Hindi.
