Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’ has wreaked havoc at the box office. The film has got its producers laughing their way to the bank, while also creating a chatter about the theme of toxic masculinity.
Anshul Chauhan, who essays the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s sister in this entertainer, shares her thoughts on the theme, how she landed up doing the movie and the experience of working with seasoned stars. Excerpts:
How did you land Animal? One month before my wedding, in October 2021, I got a call from
Sandeep sir, he told me about the part, and I told him I will do it for him because I always believed in his vision.
How would you define the experience of shooting with Ranbir Kapoor? It was such a smooth ride. He makes your job easier. He is a giver and such a warm person. I think he is the superstar for all the right reasons.
Describe the experience of working with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga?Sandeep sir explores emotions like no one else. He has the ability to extract the best from an artist in ways unimaginable. I’m really praying for another opportunity to be directed by him, where I can dive deeper and offer more as an artist.
Apart from the praise, there are some mixed reactions also to Animal, your take on it?I respect each individual’s perceptivity. Yes, the film is not made for everyone and I totally understand that.
What do you take back from Animal?Sandeep sir’s humongous vision, Ranbir’s warmth, Anil sir’s thoughtfulness, Rashmika’s endearment and Lord Bobby’s grandee.
