Lakshya and Raghav Juyal received massive appreciation for their performances in the film 'Kill'. The movie brought Lakshya into the limelight. Now, fans of the 2024 Bollywood action thriller have reason to celebrate as the sequel is officially happening, and actor Lakshya is set to reprise his breakout role.

Lakshya back as Amrit Rathod in 'Kill 2'

According to Variety India, Lakshya will return as NSG commando Amrit Rathod in 'Kill 2'. Karan Johar's production house and the co-producer have already finalized the story for the film.Reportedly, the sequel is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2026, with pre-production scheduled to begin in September. While Lakshya will be back in the lead role, the film will be set in a completely different timeline and setting, reportedly following a narrative style similar to the 'Extraction' franchise, led by Chris Hemsworth.However, Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, who directed the original 'Kill', will not return for the sequel, as he is committed to Sunny Deol's next film, tentatively titled 'Parshuram'.

Lakshya talks about 'Kill 2'

Even before the official confirmation, Lakshya had hinted at the sequel in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. He said, "Talks are going on. But to tell you honestly, I can't say much, as the film is in the working stage. So, once something concrete happens, I will be able to tell you more."
When asked if he was ready to go through the physically punishing shoot all over again, the original film was notorious for on-set injuries, Lakshya responded without hesitation: "Bilkul! Main pagal actor hoon (Of course, I am a mad actor). If I am asked to do enormous hard work, I like that. I like when I keep getting injured. When I get less sleep and I am required to do more hard work, I enjoy that."
