Actress Mallika
Prasad Sinha, who earned praise for her powerful role as Amma in 'Mardaani 3', has shared heartbreaking news with her followers. The actress revealed through an emotional
Instagram post that her father, Jaimangal Prasad, passed away on February 25, 2026. She expressed her grief while honouring the extraordinary life he lived.
In her message
Mallika wrote, “Jaimangal Prasad (1939–2026) made a most graceful exit on the morning of February 25, 2026. He passed on peacefully in the early hours held by a family that loved him so very much.”
Celebrating a father’s legacy of love and wisdom
The actress paid deep tribute to her father’s character, describing him as the gentle pillar of their home. She wrote, “A doting husband to Rama and a devoted father to Vibha, Pratibha and Mallika, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love. His presence filled our lives with warmth, and his gentle wisdom will continue to guide us always.”
Remembering a man of many talents
Mallika shared vivid details of her father’s passions and achievements. She noted, “He lived a full life of a scientist, photographer, writer, teacher, chess player and a die-hard supporter of his daughters. We were so blessed to have him in our life!”
She added that he maintained a close relationship with his extended family, saying, “He also shared a special bond with Ram, his sons in law: Rajesh and Puneet, and his beloved grandsons, Aman and Apoorv and the newest addition into our hearts and family, granddaughter in law, Tanvi.”
Mallika wrote, “We will all remember him not only for the life he lived, but for the grace with which he touched every heart around him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.”
Family invites relatives and friends for a prayer meet
Towards the end of her note, Mallika extended an invitation for a memorial gathering. She wrote, “We invite you to join us for a small pooja in our home, remembering him and celebrating his life on 27th February 2026 between 10am and 1pm.”
Just days before his passing, Mallika had posted a photograph of her father with the caption, “The best dad in the whole world. You will always be by my side. I love you.”
Meanwhile, her performance in 'Mardaani 3' received much love from audiences. In our ETimes exclusive review we said, " Mallika Prasad as Amma does a fine job, but the characterisation has little novelty. Prajesh Kashyap, as a former victim of the beggar mafia who is on a war against Amma and other human traffickers, has a strong role.
'Mardaani 3' isn’t without its flaws, but it still holds as a solid franchise outing anchored by Rani Mukerji’s performance."
