B-Town's lovebirds have been pulling off some hush-hush weddings over the past months amidst the pandemic. But even they can't resist wanting to splurge a little and have their big fat desi wedding. From Mouni Roy to Katrina Kaif, here's a list of Bollywood stars who postponed their wedding receptions owing to Covid-19 restrictions.

​Mouni Roy

Mouni Roy who is tying the knot with her beau, Suraj Nambiar, in Goa, became the latest star to cancel her reception. The actress who will take the plunge in a two-day affair will have just 50 people in attendance. She was reportedly forced to cancel her grand reception scheduled to take place in Mumbai a couple of days later due to pandemic restrictions. A source informed ETimes, “Mouni and Suraj had planned a reception party for their friends and her industry colleagues. However, keeping in mind the surge in COVID-19 cases, they have cancelled the party. She doesn’t want to put anyone’s health at risk."

​Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal had a dreamy December wedding in fort Barwara, with only their families and closest friends in attendance. As much as the couple wished to have all their friends from the film industry by their side as they took the plunge, only 150 guests were allowed to attend the do. Following the wedding, Kat and Vicky sent out a box of goodies and personal notes to all their friends from the industry, letting them know that a Bollywood style bash will take place after Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

Ankita Lokhande

Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain tied the knot in a grand three-day affair. The couple wed on December 14 in the presence of their families and close friends. Reports stated that the two wanted to have a wedding reception in their native cities as they wanted their extended families to join in the celebrations. However, their reception in Raipur was called off owing to strict COVID protocols. The two are expected to host a party sometime later this year as they want to adhere to the new guidelines.

​Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal marked their first wedding anniversary today. The couple who postponed their wedding multiple times owing to the lockdown finally got hitched in a quiet ceremony in Alibaug with their families in attendance. The Bollywood star had to keep the wedding a private affair owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Reports stated that the hunk was scheduled to host a grand Bollywood-style party for film industry friends. However, as restrictions persisted, the two were unable to have their friends join in and share in their happiness.

​Kajal Aggarwal

Kajal Aggarwal is happily married and is currently expecting her first child with husband, Gautam Kitchlu. The star, who wed in a low-key wedding in Mumbai on October 30, reportedly had plans to host two grand wedding receptions in Hyderabad and Chennai for her extended family and film industry friends to share in her happiness. However, owing to the extended lockdown and restrictions, she was unable to host her grand parties.

​Ali Abbas Zafar

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar surprised all when he announced his wedding to French model Alicia on Instagram last year. The director pulled off the hush-hush wedding in his Dehradun home. The intimate affair was attended by family and close friends. Speaking exclusively about his wedding, Ali told ETimes, "Mom and Dad had tested Covid positive, so I had to bring the marriage date ahead. They are growing old and wanted me to get married. Otherwise, the wedding was planned for 2022." He also revealed his plans to host a grand reception for his Bollywood friends. He said, "I want to throw a nice reception party for the industry. I hope it happens sometime in October...” However, owing to Covid-19 restrictions, the director was unable to host a party.
