November box office roundup

With 2019 coming to an end and December already begun, we take a look at the galore of films which released in November and how they fared at the box office. From Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull 4' which released in the last week of October to John Abraham's 'Pagalpanti' which continues to battle it out with Hollywood's animated film 'Frozen 2', here's how the films prospered at the box office.

2/6

Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull 4'

The Fahad Samji directorial which features the likes of Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Kharbanda, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde in the lead roles might have managed to mint in a stupendous figure of Rs 135.86 crore in its first week itself, but it continued its impress run in November as well. The film which went on to earn Rs 69.06 crore in the month of November with Rs 48.07 crore, Rs 16.27 crore, Rs 3.92 crore and Rs 80 lacs in respective weeks has gone on to reach an enormous number of Rs 204.92 crore. 'Housefull 4' is also expected to beat the collections of Ajay Devgn's 'Golmaal Again' and become the highest-grossing Bollywood comedy film of all time.

3/6

Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Bala'

The Amar Kaushik directorial turned out to be the highest-earning film of November with Rs 106.05 crore from just three weeks. With Rs 69.41 crore in the first week itself, Ayushmann's film started November with a bang as it released on 7th November. Post that the film which also stars Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles raked in Rs 25.84 crore and Rs 10.80 crore. ‘Bala’ also marked Ayushmann's third consecutive 100-crore film after 'Dream Girl' and 'Badhaai Ho'.

4/6

Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria's 'Marjaavaan'

After a flop show in August with 'Jabariya Jodi' which also starred Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra's came back with a vengeance and send a shock wave across the ticket counters with his next release 'Marjaavaan'. The Milap Zaveri romantic action flick which also starred Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh went on to collect Rs 37.15 crore in its first week at the box office but eventually fizzled out in the coming days. With a mere collection of Rs 7.30 crore in the second week, the film which released on 15th November ended the month with a total of Rs 44.45 crore.

5/6

John Abraham and Ileana D’Cruz's 'Pagalpanti'

Ace filmmaker Anees Bazmee, who is known to deliver blockbuster comedy films came out all guns blazing with his multi-starrer 'Pagalpanti' but failed to hit the bull's eye. With a mere collection of just Rs 28.35 from its first week, the film starring the likes of John Abraham, Ileana D'Cruz, Arshad Warsi, Urvashi Rautela, Anil Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat and Kriti Kharbanda turned out to be a disappointment. The film might still be running across many theatres but it ended up November with a poor collection and if trade experts are to be believed then it'll only be a downhill run for the film from here.

6/6

Disney's 'Frozen 2'

Disney's animated flick 'Frozen 2' which has managed to freeze out the competition at the international box office was the only Hollywood film in November which did a good business in the domestic circuits. With Rs 24.30 crore from its first week, has managed to do a good business in terms of an animated film. Not only is the Elsa and Anna's magical journey showcasing film giving a tough competition to 'Pagalpanti' but has also overshadowed Hollywood biggies like 'Ford v Ferrari' and 'Charlie's Angels' which release in November but failed in the Indian markets.
