When Kajol saved Shah Rukh Khan's life on the sets of 'Dilwale': ‘Meri zindagi ab tumhare naam ho chuki hai'
Bollywood’s lovely pair Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol reunited for the 2015 film 'Dilwale', directed by Rohit Shetty. This much-anticipated movie also featured Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. While the duo, known for their on-screen chemistry, enjoyed working together again, their journey wasn’t without its hurdles, particularly during the filming of the romantic song 'Gerua.'
An old behind-the-scenes video from the making of 'Gerua,' shared by SRK’s production house, reveals the camaraderie and challenges faced by the cast and crew. The clip not only highlights the fun moments but also a dramatic incident where Kajol saved Shah Rukh Khan from a potential accident.
In the video, Kajol recounts how she prevented SRK from falling off a waterfall, a moment of bravery that Khan himself acknowledged. She was heard saying in the video, “Yes, and you would not have survived the waterfall if I had not caught you right in time.”
SRK, during the video, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you very much for saving my life.” Kajol responded with a light-hearted quip, “You owe me now,” to which Khan replied with a smile, “I owe you my life. Meri zindagi ab tumhare naam ho chuki hai (My life now belongs to you).”
The song 'Gerua' was composed by Pritam and performed by Arijit Singh and Antara Mitra. It was produced by SRK’s wife, Gauri Khan. The movie also featured Pankaj Tripathi, Mukesh Tiwari, Varun Sharma, Boman Irani, Vinod Khanna, Kabir Bedi, and Johnny Lever.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to begin filming his next project, 'King'. This action film, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, will also feature Suhana Khan. This will be Suhana’s big-screen debut after entering Bollywood with Zoya Akhtar’s OTT show 'The Archies' last year.
