'Rita'

Renuka Shahane made her debut as a director in Marathi cinema with the film, 'Rita' based on Shanta Gokhale's critically acclaimed Marathi novel 'Rita Welinkar'. It featured stars like Pallavi Joshi, Jakie Shroff, Renuka Shahane, Dr Mohan Agashe, Tushar Dalvi, Suhasini Mule, Sai Tamhankar, Makarand Deshpande, Medha Jambotkar, Tucha Vaidya, Rajashree Nikam. Rita Welinkar is the main character in this film. Pallavi Joshi and Jackey Shroff had played roles of Rita and Salvi excellently. Apart from directing, Renuka played a prominent role in the film. This movie is an example of an ideal and sensible Marathi movie.

'Akalpith'

Prasad Acharekar's debut directorial 'Akalpith' is a mind-twisting psychological thriller. It featured stars like Dr Mohan Agashe, Nirmiti Sawant, Renuka Shahane, Atul Todankar, Sandesh Jadhav, Abhiney Sawant, and Rutul Patil in a pivotal role. In the film, a jury is called to record the statement of a suspected psycho killer, but his statements take jury members on a ride of possibilities. Renuka Shahane as Dr Mugda played a prominent role in the film. Those who love to watch psycho thrillers, this film is a real treat for them.

'Bhakarkhadi 7 Km'

Directed by Umesh Namjoshi 'Bhakarkhadi 7 Km' is a story of Sameer’s (Aniket) fall and rise in the field of medicine and in the eyes of the society, but at the same time, it is a stark and realistic portrayal of the pathetic state of affairs of rural healthcare. Renuka as TV reporter did a commendable job with her performance alongside Suyash Tilak. The film's plot takes us through his career graph. The movie did well in the box office and it's worth watching.

'Bucket List'

Director Tejas Deoskar's Marathi film 'Bucket List' which marked Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit's acting debut in Marathi films. It is a story of a woman trapped in the confines of her own choices and her journey to self-discovery. It also featured stars like Sumeet Raghavan, Renuka Shahane, Vandana Gupte Sumedh Mudgalkar, and Shubha Khote in the prominent roles. Renuka's role as Mrs Deshpande as Sai's mother gave stellar performance alongside Madhuri Dixit Nene. This heart-warming film is worth watching.

'Te Aath Diwas'

Shyam Swarnlata Ghanorkar's directorial is something different than the other stereotyped lavani based Marathi films. It offers a clean and wholesome family entertainment story which revolves around a big joint family. At the beginning of the film, there are preparations going on for the wedding of the young girl from this family (Deepali Muchirkar) to her would – be groom (Aaroh Velankar). Renuka as Deepali's mother did a commendable work with her performance. This family entertainer deserves a watch.
