​'Valimai' to 'Vedalam': First week box office reports of Ajith’s latest outings

Ajith is one of the most bankable stars in South Indian cinema, and he has an immense fan following across the world. 'Valimai'

'Valimai' marks the first release of Ajith in the past three years, and the film opened massively at the box office. With a record-breaking collection on day 1 and day 4, 'Valimai' has reportedly grossed close to Rs 70 crore in Tamil Nadu at the end of the first weekend, while the world wide collection inches close to Rs 150 crores. 'Valimai' has already become the best of Ajith at the box office, and it is expected to develop as the actor's highest grosser.

'Nerkonda Paarvai'

Ajith remade the Hindi blockbuster 'Pink' in Tamil, and the film titled 'Nerkonda Paarvai' was released on August 8th Thursday, 2019. The court drama opened to positive reviews, and it helped the film to reportedly gross around Rs 65 crore WW at the end of the first weekend with close to Rs 40 crore in TN. The remake grossed around Rs 200 crore towards the end of first week of its successful theatrical run.

'Viswasam'

Ajith's 'Viswasam' clashed with Rajinikanth's 'Petta' at the 2019 Pongal box office, and it affected the film's overseas box office. But the film managed to perform big at the Tamil Nadu box office and 'Viswasam' grossed around Rs 55 to 60 crores at the end of the 4 days the first weekend. The worldwide box office of 'Viswasam' at the end of the first weekend was around Rs 80 crores, and the film surpassed the 100 crore mark worldwide soon

'Vivegam'

The expectations were high for Ajith's 'Vivegam' as the film promised a Hollywood-level making with the teaser and trailer. The release gained huge reception, and the film shattered records at the box office. 'Vivegam' has grossed around Rs 105 crore WW at the end of its 4 days the first weekend, and turned out to be Ajith's best. But the film failed to hold its reception to convert big at the box office.

'Vedalam'

Ajith's 'Vedalam' was released on the occasion of 2015 Diwali, and the film clashed with Kamal Haasan's 'Thoongavanam' at the box office. The mid-week festival release performed well at the box office and grossed around Rs 82 crores WW at the end of sixth day despite clashing with a global actor like Kamal Haasan. 'Vedalam' had grossed Rs 40 crores at the TN box office at the end of its first weekend.
