Plot: Madhura Kavya showcases the battle between Ayurvedic medicine which has been in existence for many centuries and allopathy which is calling the shots in the modern world.
Movie review: Yashoda is an expert in Ayurvedic medicine. Her healing hands have the ability to cure diseases in no time. Gradually, her fame grows from villages to the big cities, which earns her the wrath of Allopathic doctors who think it will affect their profession. They hatch a conspiracy to kill Yashodha which forms the core of the movie.
Yashodha’s medicine doesn’t only cure diseases, it also helps people transform from the inside, making her all the more popular. As ayurvedic medicine is on the wane, director Madhusudhan Kyathanhalli (who himself is an ayurvedic doctor) has taken up the subject which presents a strong case for the traditional medicine system against allopathy which has turned into money making business.
The newbie director has taken up a movie which can be a talking point, but the approach he has adopted towards the story and mediocre performance by an inexperienced star cast are the biggest flaws in the movie. Though he has taken a subject which is rarely touched upon in Sandalwood, the movie fails to make an impact.
