Devru is a happy go lucky guy who lives in Bengaluru. He falls for Jaanu, the new girl in his colony who he helps get a house. He thinks that Jaanu and he will have their perfect ending, but there is a dark past to Jaanu that he has no idea about.
Suresh G has a very interesting story on paper. Sadly this doesn't translate on screen, which is one of the biggest reasons why this film doesn't resonate with the viewer. The film has a catchy title and also has a plot line that has some twists. But the way the story is executed is where it fails. The romantic tale lacks the punch or energy to get the viewer rooting for the characters till the almost the second half of the film starts.
The film begins on a very stereotypical note, with the hero being introduced in a massy style. He is called Devru, to add to the appeal. The setting of the first half is akin to those seen in the commercial entertainer of a Dhanush in Tamil or Vijay in Kannada. This little mini world gets a new purpose when Jaanu, a new girl enters it by seeking help from Devru and his gang in finding a house. Just when you think that there is a happy love story, there is a dramatic twist in the interval that reveals Jaanu's past.
The film might seem like the a good story on paper, given there is a dark side to the heroine's past. But the treatment is a little weak and seems unconvincing. Though, Manjula Gangappa seems to be someone to watch out for as her subtle expressions are hard to miss.
