The third phase of polling in West Bengal ended on Tuesday with a total voter turnout of 77.68 per cent across 31 seats keeping up the trend of high turnout. However, the third phase also witnessed violence during polling as the ruling Trinamool Congress, the BJP and the Left-Congress alliance put up an intense fight in the high-stakes contest. TMC MLA Saokat Molla has alleged that ISF workers are hurling bombs at polling booths. “I had received information that ISF workers were hurling bombs at a polling booth in Satsa. I have informed the Police and complained to the Election Commission. I will go to that polling booth,” he told ANI.

Dipak Haldar, BJP candidate from Diamond Harbour, South 24 Parganas alleged that people are not being allowed to vote at some booths. “The TMC goons are not allowing people to cast their votes at booth no 180, 143 Dagira Baduldanga. I have complained to the Election Commission officials,” he told ANI.
