'No mask for children aged 5 or below'

Black fungus: 764 cases, 49 deaths reported in Indore
As many as 764 cases of black fungus have been reported so far and 49 people have succumbed to the disease in Indore, informed Apoorva Tiwari, District Data Manager, Health Department, Indore. "Till now 764 cumulative cases of Mucormycosis or black fungus have been reported in Indore. 149 patients have been discharged and 49 people have succumbed to the disease," Tiwari told reporters.
The effort to trace the origins of SARSCoV-2, which causes Covid-19, would not have been as exacting had ‘patient zero’ been found by now. In January, the WHO said we might “never find who patient zero was”. But there was a way to identify the ancestor of the virus, a molecular epidemiologist from India found by “predicting” history with data. The ancestor, or progenitor genome, it turned out, had been around since at least October 2019 and survived till March 2020.

Citizens can now easily get legal info on Covid queries
As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact people in more ways than they can handle, a Bengaluru-based initiative — Nyaaya (justice) — is helping them understand their legal rights by providing legal information through multiple platforms.
For the third consecutive day, India reported below 1 lakh fresh cases and less than 2,000 deaths. The tally for Wednesday stood at 93,993 fresh cases and 1,780 new deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
Kerala, West Bengal used ‘extra dose’, reported negative vaccine wastage
Exemplary performance by Kerala and West Bengal which recorded a negative (-6.3% and -5.4%) vaccine wastage, saving 1.1 lakh and 1.6 lakh doses respectively, shows that optimum use and diligent supply management of vaccines is possible, said central government officials.In fact, the two states reported negative wastage of Covid vaccines by making use of the “extra dose” available as a wastage factor in each vial.
