Coronavirus live updates: 'India to take call on int'l flights when other nations ease curbs'

Three Air Asia special flights carrying stranded workers from Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh arrived in Bhubaneswar with 122 passengers each on Sunday. Out of 366 migrants, 280 belonged to Ganjam district alone. Others are from Jajpur, Nayagarh, Kendrapada, Cuttack and Angul districts. They were working in Anantnag, Jammu and Samba districts of J&K and Kangra and Una districts of Himachal.

- The number of coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia exceeded 100,000 on Sunday as the kingdom struggles to get to grips with a rise in the number of new infections over the past ten days. The Saudi Ministry of Health reported 3,045 new cases on Sunday, taking the total to 101,914.

The South African government has agreed how much it will pay private hospitals and medical practitioners to treat severely ill COVID-19 patients if public hospitals run out of space, a senior health official told Reuters.

A day before the country enters the first of the three-phase unlock plan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday stressed that COVID-19 and general hospitals should be inspected regularly and concrete arrangements should be made for quarantine centres and community kitchens.

The Union Culture Ministry on Sunday approved opening of its over 3,000 Archeological Survey of India monuments from June 8, Minister Prahlad Patel said. He said all coronavirus-related protocols issued by the Union Health Ministry will be followed by the monument authorities. The 3,691 Centrally-protected monuments and archaeological sites maintained by the ASI were shut from March 17 in view of the COVID-19 crisis.
