Exit polls: Yogi to remain UP CM, AAP to sweep Punjab; close contest in two states
Exit Poll Results 2022 Live Updates: Nearly a month-long election process has finally drawn to a close with voting for the 7th and last phase of Uttar Pradesh polls concluding today. The exit polls have predicted a victory for BJP in Uttar Pradesh and close contest in Uttarakhand. AAP is predicted to be the clear favourites in Punjab while Goa could be headed for a hung assembly. The BJP is also predicted to retain power in Manipur. Following exit polls predicting Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) clear majority in Punjab Assembly polls, party leader Raghav Chadha said the party is going to be the national and natural replacement of Congress. "Exit poll results tell us that the people of Punjab have overwhelmingly voted for change. People rejected traditional political parties. AAP is now a national and fastest-growing political party. AAP is going to be national and natural replacement of Congress," said AAP leader Raghav Chadha.

Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday asked Akhilesh Yadav to accept defeat and said on March 10 the Samajwadi Party will become "'samaapt vaadi party'". The final phase of the Uttar Pradesh polls was held on Monday, marking the end of the voting process spread over two months in the crucial state.

Contrary to the exit polls predicting a comfortable victory for the ruling BJP in the 2022 Assembly polls, former CM Akhilesh Yadav on Monday claimed that Samajwadi Party and its alliance partners would form the government once the poll results are announced on March 10. The party is also learnt to have issued a detailed advisory and guidelines for party candidates and their representatives at counting centres on the March 10 when the votes will be counted.
