Tangla Assembly Constituency is a newly created Assembly constituency in Assam’s Udalguri district, formed during the 2023 delimitation exercise. It is an unreserved (General) seat and falls under the Darrang–Udalguri Lok Sabha constituency.In 2026 assembly elections in Assam, Tangla seat was won by Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Bikan Chandra Deka by 84,309 seats, defeating Congress' Rohit Pariga.The constituency is centred around Tangla town, a key commercial hub in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), and shares its borders with the Bhergaon and Mazbat Assembly segments.As per the final electoral roll published in February 2026, Tangla is part of the Udalguri district’s total electorate of 6,94,848 voters. The constituency has a diverse population, including Bodo, Adivasi, Assamese and Bengali communities.
