UP Lok Sabha election results 2019 Highlights: Looking forward to serving Varanasi's people, says PM Modi
A saffron wave had swept Uttar Pradesh in 2014 when the BJP and allies won an unprecedented 73 out of the 80 seats in the state. However, the contest seems more evenly poised this time with rivals SP, BSP and RLD joining hands to defy the Modi juggernaut. Can a united fight by the Mahagathbandhan translate into rich electoral dividends or will the BJP come close to, or even breach, its 2014 tally? BJP has taken an unsurmountable lead of one lakh plus votes over Samajwadi Party and Congress in Bahraich
BJP rebel Savitri Bai Phule who had defected to Congress is at a distant third and may lose security deposit. Akshaibar Lal of BJP is leading with 4,67,615 votes, followed by Shabbir Balmiki of SP with 3,56,937 votes. Savitri Phule has just garnered 32,443 votes as per the latest figures.

SP's Shalini Yadav with 99,472 is on the second place while Congress' Ajay Rai is a distant third with 65857 votes.

Union Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gen. V.K. Singh was leading against alliance candidate Suresh Bansal by over 50,000 votes from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Singh secured 1,23,349 votes while Samajwadi Party's Bansal got 65,563 votes at the end of the 14th round. Congress candidate Dolly Sharma was trailing with 10,798 votes.
