The ‘Scheme for Loan and Advances to the Beneficiary for Construction of House’ was launched by the Tripura Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (TBOCWWB) under the Labour Department of Tripura. It provides financial assistance to Tripura’s registered construction workers so they can construct their own houses.Eligible workers can get loans of up to Rs 6 lakh, including a 6.5% credit-linked interest subsidy. The loans can be repaid over a maximum period of 20 years. This initiative aims to support the economically challenged construction workers with home ownership.

Eligibility

In order to apply, the worker should be a registered and active ‘Building and Other Construction’ (BOC) worker under the ‘Tripura Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board’. He/she must be a registered construction worker for at least 5 years, and should have at least 20 years of service left.The worker must not own a pucca house anywhere in India, and his/her family should not have availed any benefit under any housing scheme from the central or state Government.Additionally, he/she should have a minimum land area of 30 square meters for the construction of the house. The worker's annual income should be under Rs 3 lakh, should belong to the economically weaker section (EWS) category.

Application Process

Step 1: Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) and complete the Biometric Verification Process.Step 2: Ensure that the CSC agent completes all mandatory fields in the application form and uploads copies of all required documents.Step 3: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).

Documents Required

  1. Copy of BOC Worker Registration Card.
  2. Aadhaar Number (or Aadhaar/ Aadhaar Enrolment ID).
  3. Self-Certificate / Affidavit as Proof of Income.
  4. Identity and Residential Proof (PAN card, Voter ID, Driving License).
  5. Proof of Minority Community (for minority).
  6. Proof of Nationality.
  7. EWS Certificate / LIG Certificate / MIG Certificate (as applicable).
  8. Salary Slips.
  9. IT Return Statements.
  10. Property Valuation Certificate.
  11. Bank Details and Account Statement.
  12. Affidavit/Proof that the applicant does not own a ‘pucca’ house.
  13. Affidavit/Proof that the applicant is constructing a home under the scheme.
The scheme doesn’t apply to non-Tripura residents, and the loan is only meant for new construction. Upon approval, the subsidy is directly credited to the worker's bank account. If the application is rejected, the Board may provide an opportunity to reapply. The 6.5% interest subsidy is only applicable up to Rs 6 lakh.
