IND vs JPN Hockey Live Score: India's silent guns finally found some ammunition to fire as fans in Rourkela put the disappointment of team's failure to reach the Men's Hockey World Cup quarterfinals behind them to once again pack the stands at the gigantic Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium. And the Indian team responded in style to hammer the Asian Games champions Japan 8-0.

Japan have emerged as a strong continental powerhouse in hockey, beating a full-strength India 5-3 in the Asian Champions Trophy semifinal in December 2021 after losing 0-6 in the preliminary round. While a second-string India defeated Japan twice and lost once in the Asia Cup in May-June last year, the matches have been fiercely contested.
