'Once-in-a-Generation' India Signs Free Trade Agreement With New Zealand After a Decade of Talks

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal said she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party after leaving the Aam Aadmi Party, stating that her decision was driven by belief in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She claimed she had supported Arvind Kejriwal since 2006 but alleged she faced physical assault and pressure to withdraw an FIR after raising concerns. Maliwal further said she was not allowed to speak in Parliament for two years and called Kejriwal “anti-women.” She also alleged corruption and misuse of power in Punjab governance. Praising PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, she said she joined the BJP voluntarily, citing their leadership in national decisions and reforms.
