In a significant push towards cleaner urban living, Patna Municipal Corporation is dedicating Rs 69 crore to establish six modern garbage transfer stations. Set to handle 1,650 tonnes of waste each day, these facilities will effectively compact waste, thus curbing open dumping and facilitating smoother transport to disposal sites.

The scope of work includes door-to-door collection of segregated waste and its transportation to the Bandhwari landfill site, which serves as the processing location for both clusters

The state government has decided to set up 45 manned waste transfer stations at strategic locations across the state to stop littering in public spaces. Each such station will have one person deployed to sort out the waste collected before it’s sent for treatment.

Bhubaneswar is set to significantly reduce its waste load with a new compressed biogas plant at Nayapalli. This facility, a collaboration with Oil India Limited, will process 300 tonnes of waste daily, producing biogas and organic manure. The project aims to improve sanitation, cut emissions, and create jobs, enhancing the city's waste management infrastructure.

The Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) is planning to set up waste compactors at the Kargi and Dhoran transfer stations in a move aimed at better waste management and in hope of improving sanitation conditions at these sites.
