No trip to Langkawi is complete without a walk or a trek in Langkawi’s rainforests. It’s a great way to discover the intricacies of nature that make Langkawi unique. A staircase of 4300 steps leads to the top of the mountain. This walk through the rainforest is recommended only for people who are exceptionally fit. In most cases, you will spot colourful butterflies flitting from one flower to the other, caterpillars, macaque monkeys and lots of birds. It is also possible to opt for a night-time walk. This gives visitors the opportunity to spot rare animals such as the flying fox, flying squirrels and even flying lemurs. It’s best to go on a guided walk at night, as it’s easy to get lost in the wilderness.
