Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Amitabh Bachchan on his frequent hospital visits; says ‘With everyone’s blessings I come out of the hospital as well’

In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Akshay Narang, the rollover contestant from New Delhi takes the hotseat. Akshay’s mother Neeru accompanied him. Akshay said, “Whenever my mom used to make us watch your film, she would always address you as bade bhaiya.”


Akshay is a motion graphic designer and also handles his father’s business.


His question for Rs 1000 is: According to a popular English proverb, what is man’s best friend? A. Cat, B. Horse, C. Dog, D. Elephant.


He correctly answered option C.


Big B asked Akshay about his profession, to which he replied, “I have always been inclined towards art. As I grew up, I got introduced to design. In 2018, I got detected with cancer. The treatment took place for 1-2 years. During the recovery period, which I spent at home, I started learning designing on my own. I had knee pain for quite sometime. After getting scans and all, doctors found a golf ball size tumour. Then through biopsy, we found out it is cancerous tumour. I had chemotherapy sessions and surgery also. When my friends were going to college, I was in hospital. It was a tough fight but a life altering experience. I learnt a lot. I saw a kid around 6-7 years, who had to undergo a surgery and they had to amputate the leg.”


Akshay got teary eyed while narrating his experience. He added, “I had my family around me and I was going home with them. I had no reason to complain and it changed my outlook towards life.”


Big B added, “I am sitting in front of you. I have also made many rounds to the hospital but by the blessings of everyone, I have come out healthy. And there’s no reason to feel upset about your friends who were going to college because they didn’t come to KBC.”

Big B revealed a captivating anecdote about about legendary actor and filmmaker Guru Dutt’s iconic film Kaagaz Ke Phool’ response after its release. The megastar mentioned how despite being considered a classic today, Dutt’s reaction highlighted the emotional impact the film had on him at the



Big B shared, "Bahut purani baat hai… Nirdeshak Guru Dutt Sahab ka naam toh suna hoga aapne..bahut he prakhyat Aur iconic director the Aur bahut si iconic filmein unhone banayi. Ek film joh unhone banayi thi jiska naam tha Kaagaz Ke Phool, itni sundar picture, lekin jis din Woh film release hui Woh chali nahi. Aur uska pehla show dekhne ke liye swayam Guru Dutt ji gaye theatre mein, Aur thodi der dekhne ke baad jab unhe laga ke nahi hai… toh unke saath unke joh lekhak the Abrar Alvi Sahab, unhone unhe kaha, ‘Chalo Abrar we have given birth to a still baby’.”
