When late actor Vikas Sethi opened up about struggling with depression and loss of projects; shared 'Friends who would stand outside my home, asking me to party with them, suddenly disappeared'
Vikas Sethi, an actor noted for his performances in famous 2000s TV dramas such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To Hoga, and Kasautii Zindagi Kay, passed away on Sunday, September 8, at the age of 48. He is survived by his wife, Jhanvi Sethi, and twin sons born in 2021.
The late actor struggled with depression at one point in his life. In a nostalgic interview with the Bombay Times, Vikas Sethi spoke up about his challenges, saying, “It was a tough and frustrating phase. It wasn’t just about being out of work, but I was also facing difficulties on the personal front. I was suffering monetarily and was clinically depressed."
He claimed his absence was not a break, but rather a disappearance from the industry. He was ready to make a comeback by changing his appearance and losing weight. "Yes, I have made mistakes, but isn’t that human? If I had known that those mistakes would cost me my career, I would have avoided them. But now, I am positive and in a happy space. I am also getting a good response from people," Vikas added.
Vikas had mentioned how his wife and brother supported him during difficult times. He discovered that in the industry, friends can go if you are not successful. He quipped, "Friends who would stand outside my home, asking me to party with them, suddenly disappeared when I wasn’t doing anything."
Vikas Sethi's funeral was held on Monday. Celebs who had been close to the actor were seen paying their last respects. Later actor's wife and mother were consoled by Deepak Tijori as they were crying inconsolably during the last rites. Sharad Kelkar, Pracheen Chauhan, Deepak Dutta, Shabir Ahluwalia and others were present during the last rites.
