'India Is Coming To Table': Trump Aide Peter Navarro Ahead Of India-US Trade Talks In Delhi

As the US and India prepare for key trade talks in New Delhi, President Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro says India is “coming to the table,” referencing a conciliatory tweet by Prime Minister Modi. A US trade team, led by chief negotiator Brendan Lynch, is set to hold discussions aimed at breaking the deadlock over the proposed Bilateral Trade Agreement. However, Navarro also sharply criticizes India’s high tariffs and its purchase of Russian oil, calling Indian refiners “bandits.” He claims India profits from unfair trade and indirectly funds Russia’s war. Despite tensions, Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal says both sides are approaching the talks with a positive mindset, though India remains firm on protecting its farm and dairy sectors.
