After CM, now Shinde promises end to Sambhajinagar’s water woes in 2 months

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday promised smooth water supply to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the next two months, and said it was his commitment to permanently end the water woes of residents.The city continues to receive a once-a-week water supply, with the new water supply project missing multiple deadlines."The city will undoubtedly get water as the work is progressing on a war footing. Mark my words, the water issue of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will get a permanent solution," Shinde said while addressing an election rally here.Earlier, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, while campaigning for civic elections in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar a couple of days ago, delivered a similar promise.Shinde said Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has lost its tag as the fastest developing city in Asia due to corruption."The civic polls are taking place for the first time after the renaming of Aurangabad. The voters now have added responsibility to ensure only the saffron flag flies on the local civic body and those who oppose the renaming get routed out," he said.A day after Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray addressed an election rally in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Shinde targeted him on Sunday."The outcome of elections to Lok Sabha, assembly and local civic bodies showed which is the real Shiv Sena. They became a duplicate Sena the day they left the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray to form the MVA," he said.Terming Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar a city close to the heart of the late Sena supremo, Shinde said voters would ensure the next mayor of the city is from Shiv Sena only.Referring to a wish once again expressed by AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi to bury him in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar due to his emotional connection with the city, Shinde said voters would bury the AIMIM first in the Jan 15 polls.In his speech, Eknath Shinde also promised immediate solutions to different pending demands, including issuing PR cards to property holders of gunthewari areas and converting leasehold properties of Cidco into freehold.
