Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Nanded division of the South Central Railway (SCR), in a step to further strengthen safety of train operations, has made the Fog Safe Device (FSD) available for the loco pilots.
A total of 153 such high-tech devices have been provided in the division which will help loco pilots in foggy or low visibility conditions.
"The FSD is an advanced safety device that provides timely audible and visual warnings to the loco pilots and assistant loco pilots about important signals, level crossings, neutral sections and other important points on the route ahead. This early warning system enables railway staff to take necessary precautions and maintain safe control of the train, thereby further enhancing the safety of railway operations," chief publicity inspector of SCR's Nanded division Rajesh Shinde said.
The SCR authorities said the high-tech devices will cover all trains including goods trains, making railway operations in the division safer.
"The initiative is expected to significantly improve railway safety in adverse weather conditions and strengthen the reliability of railway operations. It is being ensured that all loco crew members carry FSD while reporting for duty," Shinde said.
