BENGALURU: Bangalore University (Jnanabharathi) continues to wait for a full-time vice chancellor, 10 months after the previous permanent incumbent completed his tenure. A notification from the governor's office on Wednesday said prof V Sudhesh, principal of University Law College, has been appointed the new in-charge VC of BU.
Prof Sudhesh succeeds prof HN Ramesh, who was appointed the acting vice-chancellor on July 29 this year.
The new acting VC will be at the helm for five months or until a new, permanent appointee is announced.
Prof Thimme Gowda, the previous vice-chancellor, completed his tenure in February this year. The university has seen four temporary VCs since then. Prof Jagadeesh Prakash, faculty in the department of journalism and mass communications, BU, was the first to take over the role in February; his tenure ended on March 31. Following this, prof M Muniraju from the department of commerce took over till July. He was succeeded by prof Ramesh from the department of civil engineering.
