Bhopal: Weeks after a 50-year-old Chhindwara woman barked and attacked random people after developing severe rabies symptoms, months after a dog bite, a 24-year-old daily wager, receiving treatment for suspected rabies, died after allegedly falling from the first floor of AIIMS Bhopal on Friday morning.
According to the police, he allegedly jumped to his death from the first-floor window of the hospital. A case was registered at Bagh Sewania police said.
According to sub-inspector Hemraj Kumre, the investigating officer in the case, the victim, a native of Ikodiya of Nateran police station area in Vidisha district, was bitten by a pet dog almost two months ago while he was in his village for
Holi.
His health gradually deteriorated after the dog bite, his elder brother told police. After a significant downturn in his condition on April 27, he was admitted to a private hospital from where he was later shifted to AIIMS on Thursday.
He showed abnormal behaviour on Thursday night, even barking like a dog, his kin informed police.
Around 8 am on Friday, he allegedly jumped through the glass window on the hospital’s first floor, dying on impact.
Police said the probe was centred on the circumstances leading up to his death.
